The itch is getting stronger. We are about 5 weeks out from our first competition of the year. Our season is going to begin in London KY at the Grills Gone Wild BBQ Festival.

I had high expectations of doing a lot of practice cooks to refine the flavor profiles that were recently learned, but thanks to the midwest weather this year my cooking has been limited to only a couple times. Today is going to be one of them. I am all about cooking no matter what the weather but I draw the line at subzero temperatures and then unreal windchills.

Hopefully we’ll get some better weather and I can stock the freezer up again.

Please take a moment to visit our sponsors for the 2014 season. Without them we couldn’t compete like we do.

Well it’s about time to get working on the chicken. I hope the neighbors don’t mind the smell.

beings I am your wife. And talk to several neighbors, as well as visitors. They just state you like to tease them with the smell. There mouth’s are watering while your stingy mind is cooking. Many times while walking when you are at work. I have been stopped and asked was Jasen cooking the other day? Yes I reply. And then they say we figured it smelled so tempting. Gonna have to have a neighbor hood BBQ..
